How to play

Nani Pix pointing her wand at a glowing pixel checklist, explaining the rules with a wink

Nani Pix runs a guessing game in one topic of your Telegram group. One player picks an anime screenshot, Nani Pix posts it heavily pixelated, and everyone else tries to name the anime. Every wrong guess brings the picture closer to sharp, so the first stages are where the real bragging rights are.

  1. It’s your turn — after you win a round, when someone hands you the turn, or whenever the turn is open to everyone.
  2. Start a round in a private chat with Nani Pix. Send her a screenshot, or send /newgame and pick a real screenshot from her sources instead. See Starting a round.
  3. Tell Nani Pix which anime it is by searching AniList, Shikimori, Tenrai or TMDB, picking from your MyAnimeList list, or typing the title yourself.
  4. Check the private preview of all five stages and confirm. Nani Pix posts stage 1 to the group’s game topic.
  5. Everyone guesses with /guess <title> in the game topic. A wrong guess uses up one of the stage’s tries; when they run out, the next, clearer stage is posted. See Guessing and stages.
  6. The first correct guess wins. Nani Pix reveals the original screenshot, and the winner gets the next turn. If nobody gets it after stage 5, the answer is revealed and the round ends unsolved.
  • You can’t guess on your own round — you already know the answer.
  • Guesses earn pixels 💠, the game’s currency. Spend them on private clues in the shop. See Pixels and the clue shop.
  • Sometimes Nani Pix starts a round herself. Those rounds are HARD MODE: two screenshots, two turns, one try per turn.
  • Playing earns achievements and titles, and every week, month and year has its champions. See Achievements and titles.
  • Lost? Send /help to Nani Pix at any time, or see the full command list.
