Fixing a round

Nani Pix’s matching is strict, so sometimes a right answer doesn’t count. There are two fixes:

  • While the round is running, its creator can use /correct @username in the game topic, or just /correct to pick from a menu of the round’s guessers. This doesn’t work on HARD MODE rounds, which nobody hosts.
  • After the round ended unsolved, or while a HARD MODE vote is open, an admin can send /setwinner <game id> @username to Nani Pix, or /setwinner <game id> alone to pick from a menu of that game’s guessers. The game id is the 🎲 number on every post about the round, and in /history. You can type it with or without the #, so /setwinner #142 @kenji works too, and the @ before the name is optional.

/setwinner turns the round into a normal win: the winner gets the usual reward for the stage the round ended at, plus a bonus for the wait (disputed_win_bonus, 30 💠 by default, see Game settings), and Nani Pix announces it in the game topic.

What happens next depends on the round:

  • An unsolved round stays where the turn already is: /setwinner doesn’t hand the winner the turn. There’s no bounty to pay either, because the bounty went back to its contributors when the round ended. HARD MODE cashback that clue buyers already got stays theirs.
  • An open HARD MODE vote closes right away with that winner, just as if the group had voted for them. The winner gets the HARD MODE reward, the bonus, the whole bounty and the next turn, and Nani Pix posts “🛠 An admin closed the vote: @kenji was right! It was Whisper of the Heart — that’s a HARD MODE win (+2 to the score). Your turn to start the next game!”

Nani Pix refuses when she can’t do it:

Situation Nani Pix’s reply
No round with that number There’s no game #142.
The round didn’t end unsolved and has no open vote (it was won, or is still running) Game #142 isn’t unsolved (or open for a vote), so it can’t be re-finished.
You named Nani Pix I can’t be the winner.
You named the player who started the round The game’s own starter can’t be its winner.
Nani Pix hasn’t seen that player yet I don’t know @kenji yet.

/refund @username lists that player’s clue purchases (/refund alone first shows a menu of the players who have refundable ones), newest first, five to a page, with ◀ and ▶ to page through. Each button shows the game number, the clue, the amount the refund would pay back and the date. Tap one, check the amount, and confirm.

The list, the question and the result are all the same message, which changes as you tap. Cancel leaves the purchase alone (“Refund canceled.”). The player gets a private message from Nani Pix:

A purchase can only be refunded once. If it was refunded in the meantime (by another admin, or by tapping an old list), Nani Pix answers “That purchase was already refunded.” For a HARD MODE round where the player already got part of their spend back as cashback, she only refunds the rest, and the question names the amount kept back before you confirm.

Any admin can stop the current round with /stop in a private message. You can stop it quietly or, while the round is being played, reveal the answer. Clues and the bounty are refunded, and the turn opens to everyone. See How a round ends.

  • A round Nani Pix started has no host, so only an admin can stop it.
  • During a HARD MODE vote, /stop cancels the vote too. Nobody wins, and the clues and the bounty go back to whoever paid for them.
