Automatic rounds and quiet hours
Pausing new rounds
Section titled “Pausing new rounds”/setgamesenabled off stops anyone from starting a new round, which is handy while
you’re retuning the settings. A round already in progress carries on.
/setgamesenabled on lifts the pause.
Letting Nani Pix start rounds
Section titled “Letting Nani Pix start rounds”/setautostart on lets Nani Pix start HARD MODE
rounds by herself (it’s off by default):
- when nobody has started a round for 24 hours after the turn opened up, and
- occasionally, right after a round ends, by taking the next turn herself.
Nani Pix picks a random, reasonably well-known anime for these rounds: only TV series and films (no specials, OVAs or recaps, which often reuse their parent show’s footage), and never adult content. If, after 24 hours without a round, she can’t find a suitable anime with screenshots, she tries again an hour later.
Nani Pix never starts a round while another one is being set up, played or voted
on. /setautostart off turns it off again. While new rounds are paused with
/setgamesenabled off, she doesn’t start any either.
Quiet hours
Section titled “Quiet hours”Quiet hours are a daily window, for example overnight, when Nani Pix says nothing on her own. They’re off by default.
- Send
/timezoneand pick your time zone from the list, or type it, for example/timezone Europe/Moscow. Daylight saving time is followed automatically. The time zone is saved for you personally, so each admin can have their own. - Send
/quiethours 23:00 08:00to set the window in your time zone. It can cross midnight, but it can’t start and end at the same time. Nani Pix repeats it back, along with the same window in UTC.
If you haven’t set a time zone yet, /quiethours asks for one first, with a
button for each of the common zones: Europe/Kaliningrad, Europe/Moscow,
Asia/Yekaterinburg, Europe/Berlin, Europe/London and UTC. Tap yours (or send
/timezone with any other zone), then send the command again.
First tell me your timezone, so I know which 23:00 you mean — then send the command again:
Tapping a zone replaces the question with the confirmation.
/quiethours on its own shows the current window, and /quiethours off turns it
off.
During quiet hours Nani Pix holds back everything she would normally do by herself: reminders, automatic stage changes, timeouts, turn expiry, the end of a vote, achievement and champion announcements and rounds of her own. The clocks behind them are paused, so quiet time doesn’t count. Anything a player does still works immediately, including guessing and winning.
A win during quiet hours always hands the turn to the winner: Nani Pix doesn’t take a chance at claiming it for a round of her own.
Setting or changing quiet hours doesn’t recalculate deadlines that are already running. If one of them falls inside the new window, it simply waits until the window ends. Every clock started after the change (the next guess, the next turn, the next round) pauses properly.
The quiet-hours time zone is also the group’s time zone for champion weeks, months
and years. Without one, Nani Pix uses UTC. The dates you type in /season use your
time zone too.
